Landing On Your Promised Land

Have you ever felt like all the odds were stacked against you? Everything looked bleak, and it seemed impossible to move forward? That’s how the Israelites felt when they sent spies into the Promised Land. The spies brought back good news about the land—it was fertile, and it felt like home—but then they also reported on the strong people living there. It was enough to make the Israelites give up hope.

In Hebrews 3:19 we are reminded of this same lesson. It says, “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” The Israelites didn’t enter into the Promised Land because their faith faltered when they saw all that stood in their way. They allowed what they saw to overshadow God’s promise, and so they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years until that same generation had passed away (Deuteronomy 2:14).

We need to always remember what God said! We need to keep our faith fresh by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2). We need to diligently pursue Him (Hebrews 11:6) and hold fast to His promises even when everything seems hopeless (Hebrews 10:23). We must take comfort in knowing that God does not lie; He is faithful even when we are unfaithful (2 Timothy 2:13).

God promised us that if we believe in Him, He will bring us into a land of promise just as He did for the Israelites. As Deuteronomy 6:23 says, “I brought you out – To take you in! To a land of promise!” No matter what stands between us and our destiny, if we follow His commands, He will provide a way for us!

Don’t let your faith be deterred by anything you see or hear! Hold fast to the truth of God’s Word and don’t forget His promises. Renew your mind daily with scripture so that your faith grows stronger each day. And although it may seem like an impossibility right now, know that God is able to open doors no one else can open! Trust Him with all your heart today; He will never disappoint you or lead you astray. Have faith; don’t give up on your dreams because ultimately, it is God who brings us into our promised lands!
